Barcelona who's nickname is Barca wear home shirts of red and blue. In recent seasons Barcelona have opted for a shirt sponsor on their shirts where in previous seasons they have had no shirt sponsor. The Barcelona shirts have had Qatar Airways and Unicef as their shirt sponsors in recent seasons.

Barcelona Football Club was founded in 1899 by Joan Gamper a Swiss businessman, the club´s international nature has been a quality since the first days of its existence, as shown by still holding the original Anglican version of its name Futbol Club Barcelona, instead of the formal Spanish version Club de Futbol Barcelona. Barcelona play their home games at Camp Nou, Avenida Arstides Maillol, Barcelona, which is officially known as Nou Estadi del Futbol Club Barcelona.

The club's shirts are striped in a blue and red design which are manufactured by Nike and sponsored by Qatar Airways. The away shirt is orange and blue while the third kit is highlighted yellow.

The trademark red & blue of Catalonia has been given a revolutionary hooped design for their home matches in the 2015/16 season.

Barcelona played in Group F of the 2014-15 Champions League group stage along with Paris Saint-Germain, Ajax and APOEL. Finishing the group in pole position, Barcelona displayed their dominance from the start and continued their superiority with progressive wins against Manchester City, PSG, and Bayern Munich which saw them reach the final against Juventus. Barcelona's attacking threat proved too much for the Italian club and they subsequently defeated 3-1 with goals from Rakitic, Suarez, and Neymar.

Barcelona were pooled in Group H of the 2013-14 Champions League. They finished top of their group ahead of AC Milan, Ajax and Celtic. Barcelona beat Manchester United in the Round of 16 before they were beaten by fellow La Liga side Atletico Madrid in the quarter-finals.

Barcelona were pooled in Group G of the 2012-13 Champions League. Barcelona topped their group containing Celtic, Benfica and Spartak Moscow. Barcelona beat AC Milan in the Round of 16 then Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter-finals. The club were beaten 0-7 in the semi-finals by Bayern Munich who ended up winning the title.

Barcelona topped Group H in the 2011-12 Champions League. They finished above AC Milan, Viktoria Plzen and BATE Borisov. Barcelona beat Bayer Leverkusen and AC Milan to reach the semi-finals. Barcelona ended up losing to eventual winners Chelsea.
